Oropesa del Mar presents its medieval night tour for the celebration of San Jaime

The 9 d'Octubre association will star in the itinerary next Tuesday, July 25 

 

The Oropesina 9 d'Octubre association has presented this week the poster announcing the medieval night tour that will be held in the town next Tuesday, July 25 at 11:00 p.m., during the celebration of the patron saint festivities in honor of San Jaime del June 24 to 30. In this presentation, the entity together with the Department of Festivals, Tourism and Culture also announced the parade that will take place in October and that represents a historical moment of great importance for Oropesa del Mar, through a historical recreation focused on the 13th century. 

The mayor of the town, Araceli de Moya, has highlighted the support that the entity receives from the council:It is an association that now has more than a hundred members and highlights the great historical and cultural heritage of Oropesa del Mar. Therefore, we are working between the different councils to ensure that the historical recreations of the municipality are another tourist attraction.”

In this second edition of the event announcing the historical recreation that is celebrated on October 9, the day of the Valencian Community, the Department of Festivals and Culture has presented the route through which it will take place. The route will start from the parish of San Jaime and continue along C/Pizarro, C/Virgen de la Paciencia, Avda. la Estación, C/Leoncio Serrano, C/ De Castellón, C/Ramón y Cajal, C/ Sánchez Pastor, C/Ríos Portilla, until ending in the Plaza de la Iglesia, in the old town of Oropesa del Mar.

This cultural initiative is increasingly acquiring greater relevance throughout the province and within the town itself, where the residents who collaborate with the 9 d'Octubre association They participate both in the tour and in making medieval clothing or performing traditional music with musical instruments.
