Oropesa del Mar organizes a new edition of the 'Orpesa Poble Antic' photography contest

People interested in the contest have until September 2 to send their photographs

The Oropesino municipality launches the 'Orpesa Poble Antic' photography contest. Since its launch, this initiative, which celebrates its 11th edition this year,  It aims to encourage photography and promote knowledge of the Historical-Cultural Heritage of the town. Creativity, photographic quality and the sensations that each image transmits will be valued. 

This emblematic local contest is aimed at anyone of legal age, both professionals and amateurs, regardless of place of residence. The call has already been opened and interested people have until September 2 to send their photos to the email orpesapobleantic@gmail.com. It must include the name and surname or pseudonym of the contestant, the email address and postal address, the contact telephone number and the information of the photograph (title of the photograph and place where the photograph was taken).

The Mayor of the municipality, Araceli De Moya, has encouraged visitors and residents of the territory to participate. “This contest is a magnificent opportunity to enjoy photography, helping us to spread the richness of our cultural heritage”, the councilor explained. 

For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Juan García, has declared: “From the Department of Culture we resume the Orpesa poble antic photography contest, in its 11th edition we look forward to seeing how the participants through the lens of their cameras capture images of an old town full of culture, in its streets, houses, museums and castle.”

Each participant may submit a maximum of three photographs and these must be original and unpublished, and those that have participated in other contests, have been published or are photomontages will not be admitted. Additionally, the files must be sent in jpg format. and with a size of 2MG. 

Among all the photographs presented, 20 finalists will be selected and exhibited at the Oropesa del Mar Museum. Likewise, this contest will award cash prizes to the first three winners. €500 to the winner, €300 to the second place winner and €150 to the third prize winner. This financial award is contemplated within the municipality's Strategic Subsidy Plan as part of the municipal lines of action to support Culture, the promotion of our historic center and local talent.
