The first Oropesa del Mar Manga Days are coming on August 30 and 31

 This initiative will offer a wide variety of activities for all ages next to the Les Amplàries beach library

 

This morning, Oropesa del Mar Town Council presented the long-awaited Manga Days, which will take place on 30 and 31 August. This initiative, organised by the Department of Culture, will feature a varied programme that includes activities for all ages and tastes, focused on the world of manga and Asian pop culture.

The Councillor for Culture, Juan García, has stated that “These events will be an excellent opportunity for both children and adults to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of manga and Asian pop culture, although there will also be room for the most famous characters in the galaxy, who will be special guests at the event on Saturday 31st.” On this occasion, the chosen place to hold these sessions will be the green area next to the Amplaries reading point, the Biblioplaya, which will host an exhibition of manga and anime images of mermaids.  

The event will open on Friday, August 30 at 6:00 p.m. with the opening of the official store, where you can purchase products related to the manga and anime. Throughout the afternoon, attendees will be able to enjoy activities such as children's workshops, immersive experiences or face painting. In addition, at 7:00 p.m., fans of the series 'Haikyuu!! The aces of volleyball will have the opportunity to play volleyball with their favorite characters. The day will culminate at 8:30 p.m. with a raffle for a 'Mermaid with Oceania' experience. 

On Saturday, August 31, the day will begin again at 6:00 p.m., promising a day in which attendees will be able to participate in a host of proposals such as free lightsaber combat classes offered by Ludosport, or exhibitions of asian dance and K-Pop by Coppelia. Action lovers will also be able to watch lightsaber battles at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

This event, which is a novelty in the cultural programming of the municipality, promises to be an unmissable event for all fans of manga and Japanese culture. The Mayor of the municipality, Araceli De Moya, invites residents and visitors to “Take part in these First Manga Days and enjoy a weekend full of fun and pop culture”.

The event is open to the public and all activities will be free of charge and without prior registration. In addition, there will be an exhibition and sales point where fans of the manga genre can find their favourite publications.
