Located in the center of Oropesa del Mar, the Municipal Public Library is a space for information and promotion of culture and reading.

The Library stands as a center for the acquisition, conservation and access to culture and information, which makes available to users services such as the loan of bibliographic material, a study area and a children's area, and access to computers with internet and a Wi-Fi zone. -Fi.
School visits are also carried out for children and young people, with the aim of bringing the library center closer to the population and creating a reading culture at an early age, as well as a large and varied number of activities framed in our “Extension Librarian” and “Reading Animation”.

Encourage the habit of reading, and support the oral tradition

We try to carry out all these objectives both within the Library's own facilities and outside them, using other public spaces and collaborating with other entities or organizations in our locality, in order to create a complete and diverse cultural narrative in the town..

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Describes as a fundamental objective for Libraries: "To contribute to the comprehensive development of the members of a given community and their own identity, with the participation of the community , acting as a bridge between the accumulated culture and the free access of said community to information, knowledge and recreation”.
