ramparts
On the perimeter of the Old Town some remains of the old walls are preserved, which due to their architectural value have been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC).

Originally (12th century) the perimeter of the walls was smaller since it included the first settlement of residents that included the castle and its surroundings, reaching the current Dr. Alemany street where some sections can still be seen.

It was in 1379 by order of the King of the Crown of Aragon, Pedro IV the Ceremonious, who ordered the Lord of Oropesa, Jofre de Thous, to fortify and wall the town and castle so that, in case of assault, the inhabitants could be collected inside. of the term and guard against the excesses of the enemy. Most of the sections that are on Calle San Antonio survive from this extension.
