The Oropesa del Mar City Council has scheduled three bull runs from July 26 to 30 on the occasion of the patron saint festivities
The children's bull run in the Oropesa del Mar Bullring yesterday inaugurated the bullfighting program of the patron saint festivities in honor of San Jaime. This meeting sought to bring to the little ones a local tradition that the population can enjoy every year around this time. The Oropesino-style bull run was declared a Festival of Provincial Tourist Interest in 2013 because it was considered a unique tradition.
The first Oropesino-style bull run of the bulls this year was held today at 8:00 a.m. with cattle from Alberto Garrido's ranch. Later, at 1:00 p.m., the men and women of Oropesinos were able to repeat the experience with the cattle from Iván Miró's livestock farm.
The traditional Oropesino style running of the bulls will continue until Sunday. Specifically, three bull runs have been scheduled at 8:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. from Wednesday, July 26 to Sunday, July 30. The Councilor for Festivals, David Juárez, explains that this year the novelty is the celebration of a daily running of the bulls at 8:00 a.m., although “the most crowded is usually at 7:00 p.m.”
