Tomorrow the population of Oropesa del Mar will enjoy a medieval night tour led by the “9 d'octubre” association. The parade is part of the program of the patron saint festivities in honor of San Jaime and will feature the participation of the Filà dels Almoràvits, Filà de Sant Jordi, Filà del Bisbat de Tortosa, Filà de l'Orde de l'Hospital and the Filà of the Castellanía of Amposta.

The mayor of Orpesa del Mar, Araceli de Moya, has congratulated the 9 d'Octubre association for making this medieval tour possible, which she considers “an opportunity to remember important moments in the history of Oropesa and keep the cultural identity alive.” This is a pioneering cultural initiative within the town itself and that, over the years, has gained relevance throughout the province. “It is a pride to see the involvement of the neighbors in organizing the tour, as well as making medieval clothing or giving life to traditional music.”

The parade will begin at 11:00 p.m. in the parish of San Jaime, from where the Oropesina lines will leave for the Plaza de la Iglesia, passing through the streets Pizarro, Virgen de la Paciencia, Avenida de La Estación, Calle Leoncio Serrano, De Castellón, Ramón and Cajal, Sánchez Pastor and C/Ríos Portilla.

The Medieval Tour will conclude in the Plaza de la Iglesia, where participants and the public will enjoy a spectacular closing to the festivities in honor of San Jaime. Later at 00:00, the “Grand Prix Night” will take place, an exciting comedy-bullfighting show that will take place in Plaça de Bous.

The Fiestas Councilor, David Juárez, has also expressed his gratitude to all the people involved in the organization of the event and to the ranks that participate. “The Medieval Tour is a team effort that allows us to enjoy and share our history with all the inhabitants and visitors of Orpesa. “We are excited about what this exciting day has in store for us.”
