A free, family-friendly event celebrating Japanese creativity, entertainment, and culture on August 22 and 23, 2025

Oropesa del Mar is preparing to host the second edition of the Manga and Freak Culture Days, which will take place on August 22 and 23, 2025, in the green area next to the municipal reading center (Les Amplaries). With free admission, the event is aimed at audiences of all ages and promises two days packed with activities related to manga, science fiction, video games, cosplay, and much more.

Organized by the Department of Culture of the Oropesa del Mar City Council, "these events are establishing themselves as an essential summer activity for those who enjoy the world of manga and freak culture in all its forms," commented Councilor Juan García.

The program, specifically designed for a family-friendly and participatory atmosphere, will include children's workshops, traditional Japanese games, encounters with characters from the Freak universe, and ongoing on-stage activities such as cosplay contests, trivia, random dance, and interactive challenges like the Lost Ark Ball. In addition, attendees can enjoy a lively market starting at 5:30 p.m. both days.

One of the highlights will be the themed scavenger hunt "Find the Devil Fruits," which will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, inspired by the universe of the popular manga, One Piece. Also of note is Ludosport, which will offer free classes on Saturday and an exciting lightsaber battle starting at 8:00 p.m.

Both events will feature photocalls and meet-and-greets with superheroes, Ghostbusters, and characters from the Galaxy, bringing fantasy and adventure to the heart of Oropesa del Mar.
