The school commemorates its twentieth anniversary with a musical show in the Plaza Mayor on Monday, July 24
Next Monday, July 24, the city of Orpesa will commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Escola de Danses Orpesa in the emblematic Plaza Mayor and will begin at 10:30 p.m. The 'Escola de Danses Orpesa', since its founding two decades ago, has been an entity committed to the preservation of the cultural and folkloric traditions of the region. To celebrate this milestone, they have prepared a very special performance that will feature the participation of different local artists.
In an effort to fuse traditional dance with live music, the Escola de Danses Orpesa has teamed up with the Unión Musical Orpesa and local singer, Bea Buján Edo, to give a special touch to the celebration of its twentieth anniversary.
The mayor of the town, Araceli de Moya, appreciates the commitment of groups such as the dance school to culture and invites the population to join the celebration. “For two decades, the Escola de Danses Orpesa has been a fundamental pillar in the transmission of traditional dance and music to present and future generations. I thank all its members for the dedication and passion they put into preserving our cultural roots.”
The school extends its invitation to all inhabitants of Oropesa del Mar and visitors to the region, to join “this magical night and immerse themselves in traditional music and dance.” The Councilor for Culture, Juan Antonio García Bonnin, assures that “it will be an occasion to appreciate the work of these artists committed to the promotion and conservation of local traditions.”
