Oropesa del Mar hosts the 'Stabat Mater' with great success on All Saints' Day
Oropesa del Mar held a wide variety of cultural proposals on the occasion of the celebration of All Saints. Among the different initiatives, the interpretation of 'Stabat Mater' by Pergolasi by the Ars Sacrum Trio group in the San Jaime Parish stood out.
This cultural activity had a great participation of the Oropesina citizens who managed to fill the parish of the municipality. The musical performance delighted attendees for 45 minutes, where the voices of the artists were the protagonists. Ars Sacrum Trio, the group that performed the work, was made up of a wide variety of artists: Miguel Gómez, countertenor, Mireia Tarragó, soprano, and Viviana Salisi, organist.
The mayor of the town, Araceli De Moya, has explained the municipal government's commitment to offering cultural proposals to all audiences. “News like the concert of sacred music, the conference and the first performance of the premiere of the play , offer citizens a unique opportunity to enjoy our municipality”, stated the mayor.
For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Juan García, positively values the entire cultural program of the All Saints' festivity, thanking the collaboration of the different municipal areas as well as the parish church. “It has been an absolute success since we have hung the sign of in the theater performance of Zorrilla's classic . As well as the pleasant and great surprise of seeing the response of neighbors and visitors in the baroque, concert that filled our parish. And finally, the conference held on the Spanish tradition of All Saints, which I also value very positively.”
The cultural event of sacred music was followed by different cultural proposals during the previous days to offer different recreational proposals on such an important date. The town has hosted, among many other initiatives, in addition to the play 'Don Juan Tenorio' or the conference 'The Spanish tradition of the festival of All Saints' carried out by the political scientist Joan Querol Vicent, a pumpkin workshop, the distribution of the “tarró de gat”, discomobile and shows for the little ones, among other activities.
