Oropesa del Mar raises the curtain on the 16th edition of the Mercat de Nadal with a large program of activities

The queens, Mireia Aparici and Elena Gimeno, along with their ladies and partygoers, have toured the more than 60 booths at the opening of this long-awaited fair

The municipality of Oropesa del Mar 'advances' Christmas with its traditional Mercat de Nadal installed in the Mayor and Doctor Clarà squares. A fair that this year reaches its 16th edition and that has more than 60 booths and stands with an infinite number of products along its route so that neighbors and visitors can do their Christmas shopping.

Thus, this morning the inauguration ceremony took place by the queens, Mireia Aparici and Elena Gimeno, who attended with their ladies and companions. They have not lacked the Councilor for Fiestas, Jennifer Casañ; the mayor of Culture, Gonçal Tamborero, and other members of the municipal corporation, who together with the courts have taken the opportunity to visit each of the stands that make up the Christmas fair this year.

The central act will take place this afternoon, at 6:00 p.m., with the long-awaited lighting of the town's Christmas lights at the hands of a show that will fill the Plaza Mayor with magic and illusion. An act in which the highest representatives of the festivities will participate, along with their ladies and partygoers, who will once again have great prominence. Before that, the group of dolçainers and tabaleters L'Embolic will carry out a parade to imbue the central square with the Christmas spirit with the interpretation of some Christmas carols.

Christmas fair schedule

The activity will continue throughout the week with a wide range of activities for all audiences that will include afternoons, a performance by the Escola de Danses d'Orpesa and children's workshops in which boys and girls will be able to create their own snowman, Christmas decorations and even a tree.

It will be on December 10 when this new edition of the Mercat de Nadal lowers the curtain after an intense day in which the show 'Zambomba flamenca' will not be missing, in which students from the Integral Center for the Elderly and Maika de la Fuente, the Solidarity bingo and a sobaquillo solidarity dinner (both events organized by the Associació Joves d'Orpesa) in which a food collection will be carried out.

The 'Menéalo on tour Christmas' disco will put an end to a magical week in which both young and old will immerse themselves in one of the most endearing dates on the calendar.
