This morning, the Oropesa del Mar Town Hall's Plenary Hall hosted the official presentation of the 22nd edition of ORFIM – Oropesa del Mar International Music Festival. The festival will be held from August 1 to 5 on the esplanade of José Rivera Forner Street, with a total of five concerts and free admission to the public.

The event featured speeches by the mayor of Castellón, Rafael Albert, the councilor for culture, Juan García, and the festival's artistic director, Pedro Quiralte-Gómez, who highlighted the council's commitment to continuing to consolidate ORFIM as a leading musical event in the province of Castellón, with a varied, accessible, and high-quality artistic offering.

This year's festival space will feature around 1,000 seats to comfortably accommodate attendees, in an open-air setting that will allow them to enjoy the concerts with all the guarantees of comfort and safety.

The ORFIM 2025 program will kick off on Friday, August 1, with an inaugural concert in tribute to Giuseppe Verdi, entitled "Viva Verdi," which will offer a tour of some of the Italian composer's most iconic compositions.

On Saturday, August 2, the Waldstein Ensemble will take over with a chamber music program that will bring together renowned national performers around beautiful classical works.

On Sunday, August 3, for the first time in the festival's history, a flamenco performance will be included with the show "Esencia Flamenca," led by prestigious guitarist Carlos Piñana, bringing the audience closer to the power and emotion of this universal art form.

On Monday, August 4, it will be the Romantic Quintet's turn, with a program focused on 19th-century composers who will evoke the sensitivity and virtuosity of this period.

Finally, on Tuesday, August 5, the festival will conclude with a massive concert featuring nearly 90 musicians from the Orfeó Universitari de València, who will perform Carl Orff's celebrated work "Carmina Burana" in one of the most anticipated and ambitious productions of this year's edition.

The Councilor for Culture, Juan García, declared: “Dear residents of Oropesa, visitors and the public who have come from so far! It is a joy for me to welcome you to the 2025 edition of Orfim. This year, from August 1st to 5th, our municipality will become the epicenter of national festivals with a multidisciplinary program that will take us to enjoy the Master of Masters, Giuseppe Verdi, through chamber music with Mozart or Beethoven, and ending with Carmina Burana. Without forgetting Flamenco. Five days of high-end culture where I hope you enjoy it as much as we at the Department of Culture have enjoyed preparing it. I look forward to seeing you. Let the show begin!”

For his part, the Mayor of Oropesa, Rafael Albert, emphasized: “I am especially proud to have been present at this year's ORFIM, a festival I had the honor of launching twenty-two years ago with Councilor Juanma Miralles. At that time, we believed in culture as a driving force for tourism, the economy, and society, and today we are pleased to see how ORFIM has established itself as an essential summer event in our town. We will continue working to ensure that Oropesa del Mar also becomes a benchmark in the cultural sphere, and that festivals like ORFIM continue to grow year after year.”
