Oropesa del Mar celebrates the XIV Provincial Beach Tennis Circuit

More than a hundred Participants met last Saturday on La Concha beach

 

Last Saturday, Concha beach in Oropesa del Mar hosted the 14th Provincial Beach Tennis Circuit, an event that brought together more than a hundred tennis enthusiasts of all ages. A total of 65 couples participated in the tournament, which in this edition was made up of four categories.

The organisation awarded prizes to the winners in the different categories. In the female category, first place went to Castellón's María Belmar and Verónica Peña and second place to Sara Bou and Lucía Hernández, both from Zaragoza. In the male category, the winning couple was the one made up of Alejo Marqués and Imed (Oropesa) and, in second place, the Oropesinos Felipe and Luis Causa. The couple from León formed by Adrián Hidalgo and Verónica Gómez won the first prize in the mixed category, while second place was occupied by Marta Fernández and Jorge Roderol, from Madrid. 

There were also prizes for the youngest participants in the tournament. First place in the children's category went to Koldo Dediego and Iván Dediego from Madrid. José Pociño and Eric Carrera from Oropesa came second in this category. 

The Mayor of Oropesa del Mar, Araceli de Moya, and the Councillor for Sports, Sonia Bellés, were present at the tournament, among other members of the municipal corporation. The Mayor highlighted “the commitment of the Oropesa del Mar Town Council to the promotion of sport and the revitalization of Playa de la Concha”.  “Sport is a fundamental part of our community and events like this allow us to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.” He took the opportunity to thank both residents and visitors for their participation “in a day full of sport and participation for the whole family.”
